Scotch Files: More LAY-ing Out

DISCLAIMER: This was a post I forgot to activate a few weeks ago.

I have been reading a few articles about Ken Lay's funeral and I found a few humurous things:

Yesterday, the former mayor of Houston, Bob Lanier, collapsed as he walked to his seat at the funeral.

LMAO!!!!!

You ask why is that funny? Because Lanier served as a "character" witness for Lay's defense. During the trial, he testified that Lay was, "straight as a string with me," and in not so many words that he was a good man. A visionary even. So how come Lay didn't have the "vision" to see the wrongdoing that was going on in the company? Or the "vision" to see that it would be better to tell the truth rather than lie on the stand? Apparently, he had the "vision" of Andrea Bocelli (*You like the classical reference, right? lol)!

So back to the funny part: Lanier takes the "code of the streets" route for his friend. Upon entering what I assume was a church, Lanier collapses. Does GOD have a sense of humor or what? It was almost like GOD was sending off a warning shot- You lie under oath, you could die! Granted, Lanier had had triple by-pass surgery in '98, I just can't get past the notion of GOD playing with this guy's life for a second. LOL

You've Got to Love the Boldness

In case you missed it, a virtual who's who attended Lay's memorial service. Including, the original gangsta Bush, George Bush, Sr. That is some bodl ish. Or maybe it is the luxury of knowing you have Secret Service protection for the rest of your life and that your political life is over. That must be why he was so comfortable attending. If he were still running for something, I am betting he wouldn't have gone anywhere close to that service.Probably due to "extensive campaigning."

Also in attendance was the former Enron president, John Seidl. Mr. Seidl was such a loyal friend that he went so far as to criticize the, "over-zealous federal prosecutors and media who vilified an exceedingly good man." I hope my friends can speak so highly of me when I die. And I haven't even ruined anyone's life because of my own personal greed. He also stated, "Ken Lay wouldn't do anything illegal, even if you put a gun to his head. So what is it called when you do it without a gun in sight? That sounds like a man ready to act, not sit back and hang on for the ride.

Here are a few more articles that addressed the Late Theif and Crook
